Heaven Hill Distillery has created yet another legendary quaff with their 13th edition of Parker’s Heritage Collection 8 year old Heavy Char rye. Aged for a minimum of 8 years, this is the first rye to be offered in the PHC series and is uniquely imbued with level 5 char, two levels deeper than H. H’s standard char #3. Rumored to yield a limited run of roughly 20,000 bottles worldwide, this edition contains a mash bill of 51% rye, 35% corn, and 14% malted barley with a mature barrel strength of 105% proof. The nose carries notes of rye spice and baked barrel wood over hues of caramel and spice. The palate is layers of dark fruits, leather, and pops of rye spice.
