This label was introduced in the early 1970s and is named 1849 after the year in which W.L. Weller & Sons was founded. This is the Heaven Hill version, distilled at Bernheim and bottled in 2012. Walking through a rainfall of autumn leaves dropped like dander from naked oak trees is a picture perfect capture of a change of season. Old Fitzgerald 1849 bourbon mesmerizes your tastes just as the fall of leaves your eyes, and is equally as beautiful. The aroma opens in a tale of autumn on the soul – warm hues of clovers melting into spiced cinnamon cider and toffee candies soaked in vanilla essence and pepper. The mouth joins the aroma like a twinning reflection of the moon, both sweet and softly hued by bites of cinnamon, shy kisses of orange, and chocolate.
