About Tequila Spirits Online

Buy Tequila online at discounted price – Tequila is a distilled alcoholic beverage that is primarily made from the blue agave plant. The process begins by harvesting the agave plants, which are then roasted and crushed to extract their juice. This juice is fermented and distilled to produce tequila.

There are generally two types of tequila: 100% agave tequila and mixed tequila. 100% agave tequila is made solely from agave sugars and is considered to be of higher quality. Mixed tequila, on the other hand, contains at least 51% agave sugars and can be combined with other sugars, such as cane sugar.

Tequila can be aged in different types of barrels, such as oak, which can impart additional flavors and complexity to the spirit. The aging process can range from a few months to several years, depending on the desired outcome.

Tequila is often enjoyed straight, as a shot, or used as a base spirit in various cocktails, such as the Margarita. It is important to note that tequila is produced primarily in Mexico and is protected by denomination of origin laws, meaning that true tequila can only be produced in specific regions of Mexico.

What Are The Types Of Tequila?

There are several types of tequila, each with its characteristics and aging processes.

Blanco (Silver/White): This is the most common and traditional type of tequila. It is usually unaged or aged for a short period (up to two months) in stainless steel tanks or oak barrels. Blanco tequila has a transparent color and a fresh, vibrant flavor profile.

Joven (Young/Gold): Joven tequila blends blanco and aged tequila. It has a golden color and a smooth, slightly mellow taste. This type of tequila may also contain additives, such as sugar or caramel, to enhance the flavor.

Reposado (Aged): Reposado tequila is aged in oak barrels for at least two months and up to one year. This aging process gives it a light to medium golden color and a more complex flavor profile with hints of oak, vanilla, and caramel.

Añejo (Extra Aged): Añejo tequila is aged in oak barrels for a minimum of one year and up to three years. It has a dark amber color and a rich, smooth taste with pronounced oak, vanilla, and caramel notes.

Extra Añejo (Ultra Aged): This is the newest category of tequila, introduced in 2006. Extra Añejo tequila is aged in oak barrels for at least three years, resulting in a very dark color and a complex flavor profile with intense oak, vanilla, and spice notes.

It’s important to note that the aging process can vary between tequila brands and may affect flavor profiles differently. There are other tequila variations, such as Cristalino tequila, which is aged and filtered to remove the color while maintaining the aged flavor.

Please drink responsibly and enjoy tequila in moderation.
